The Movies With The Best Box Office Achievement
July 24th, 2009Just because a movie made a lot of cash at the box office it does not necessarily mean that you will adore it. Judgment in movies is a very personal outlook but the movies that have the peak victory at the box office are the ones that have touched the most people and these are the films that have achieved the maximum degrees of success in the authentic world.
The highest grossing film of all time did not make the most money of every film for all time. That is of course, because the top-grossing film of all times was filmed back in 1939. Inflation has increased significantly since that era and the box office proceeds from that time were much less than box office revenue from existing times.
With an alteration for the inflation of the past 70 years, the highest commercial successful movie of all times is “Gone with the Wind” starring Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh. With the inflation change this film has grossed a phenomenal $1.45 billion.
The movie that has in reality brought in the most cold-hard money without any modification for inflation is “Titanic” at $922 million. Nevertheless, with the inflation adjustments for time, “Titanic” comes in at number 6 for all time, which is decent but 5 other movies outperformed it.
In the left over top five there is “Star Wars” at number 2, number 3 is the musical “The Sound of Music”. Number 4 is everyone’s favorite alien, “E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial” and at number 5 is “The Ten Commandments”.
“Titanic” of course, comes in at number 6, followed by the summer runaway success, “Jaws” at number 7 and at number 8 it is “Dr. Zhivago”. The only horror movie in the top 10 comes in at number 9, which is “The Exorcist” and another movie from 1939 rounds out the top 10, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” from Disney.
In the top 25 movies, both Disney and George Lucas’ “Star Wars” movies have done well. “Fantasia”, “101 Dalmatians” and “Mary Poppins” are from the Disney studios and “Return of the Jedi”, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Star Wars: Episode I-The Phantom Menace” merge with “Star Wars” on the list of top 25.
